Fall Road Trip to Williamsburg, VA

October 9-11, 2026

 

 

You want to play golf in Williamsburg, but do not want toplay in the heat of summer.  Join ASGA-DC for an October weekend golf outing inWilliamsburg, VA. We are heading to the Blue Heron course at Ford’s Colony onFriday and the Colonial Heritage course on Saturday.    Our Sunday finale will be the River course atKingsmill – because what is a road trip without a challenging finale!

 

The Itinerary

 

Friday: Ford's Colony - Blue Heron Course

A favorite to Ford’s Colony Members, the Blue Heron courseis a continuous 18 holes consisting of long and challenging par 3’s, fair par4’s and intimidating par 5’s.  The course has new Champion Bermuda greens whichprovide the smoothest surfaces throughout the year.  Many of the holes havegenerous fairways carved out of dense wetlands which provides a unique courselayout that is home to many different species of birds and fish. The Blue Heroncourse is typical Dan Maples — gorgeous to look at and fun to play.

Saturday: Colonial Heritage Golf Club

This artfullycrafted Arthur Hills golf course masterpiece emulates the classic beauty andrefinement of the natural terrain and landscape of its southern Virginiasurroundings. Sunday: Kingsmill River Course

After golf on Sunday: We will meet-up inthe Eagles Grill in the Kingsmill golf clubhouse for tall tales and late lunchbefore heading home.

 

Accommodations:  At the Historic PowhatanResort, which includes indoor and outdoor swimming pools, restaurant, and bar.  We will be in 4-bedroom condos, and everybodywill have their own bedroom.  Further, the 4-bedroom condos units have fourbathrooms. In addition, the condos have their own kitchen. You can preparebreakfast and dinner in these condos!

Format: Stroke play

Social:  At our lodging, we have arestaurant that is open for breakfast.  Planning for dinner away from thelodging both Friday and Saturday evening. While dinner locations are not yetdetermined, I have places in mind for both evenings.

Price: For all three rounds of golf, andlodging with your own bedroom on 4-bedroom condos, is $669.00. Meals and drinksare extra.
