ASGA-DC is taking a weekend road trip to play the golf course at the Rocky Gap Resort and Casino. Rocky Gap Casino Resort is located in Rocky Gap State Park near Cumberland in the heart of Allegany County in Western Maryland. A AAA 4-Diamond Award® and TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence-winning resort, Rocky Gap offers a casino, hotel, conference center, two restaurants and a deli, the only Jack Nicklaus Signature Golf Course in Maryland, a spa, indoor pool, fitness center, pro shop, self-parking, and several outdoor recreational activities The course is easily accessible from exit 50 on I-68, about one hour west of Hagerstown, MD, but while playing you’ll feel like you’re a million miles away. The design takes advantage of the location among the undulating hills of the ageless Appalachian Mountains and the blue waters of the adjacent lake.
The front nine is carved from mountainous, tree lined terrain with numerous dramatic elevation changes, while the back nine is spread across expansive, gently rolling meadows. Five different tees per hole allow all players to adjust the level of challenge to their handicap. The course also has a driving range, two large putting greens, two chipping areas and a practice bunker.
It’s been six years since ASGA-DC has played Rocky Gap, and we are up to the challenge!
Optional Round: On the drive up to Rocky Gap, we are also offering an optional round of golf on Friday at the Whitetail Golf Course with tee times starting at 11:00 am. 20 minutes west of Hagerstown, MD, and just north of the Whitetail Ski area, the Whitetail Golf Course, designed by Rick Robbins, uses the natural topography to create both a challenging and scenic course that will please golfers of all ability levels

The plan:
Whether you play Whitetail or drive straight through to the Resort, we will gather at 7:30 pm Friday for a meet and greet.
Breakfast is not included in the price, but the breakfast buffet at the resort’s Lakeside Grill and Lounge is recommended.
Saturday and Sunday tee times start at 9:00 AM, for up to 32 players.
After the round each day, drinks, lunch and tall tales along with awarding of competition prizes at the Signatures Bar and Grill.
You will have a few hours Saturday afternoon to enjoy the resort amenities such as the beach, casino, spa, etc.
Whatever you choose to enjoy on Saturday afternoon, plan on meeting everyone at 6:30 PM for drinks, then organize ourselves into small groups for dinner at the Lakeside Grill and Lounge, which overlooks the lake. After dinner, we can roam the resort, walk down by the lake, or visit the casino.

Note: You will directly pay Rocky Gap for your lodging and Rocky Gap golf.
As you have noticed, this is a weekend trip. We have reserved a block of rooms at the Rocky Gap Resort. The rates for rooms with either two queen beds or one king bed is $199.00 per night plus taxes (14%) and resort fees which include a state park fee of $3 per night and a resort fee of $25 per night per room. You can reserve for either one or two nights.
For the golf portion, the rate for the Saturday round is $75 per round including cart, and range balls. For the Sunday round, the rate is $65 including cart and range balls.
You must reserve your room by midnight, August 21, 2023 to obtain this rate. Rocky Gap’s reservation line is (800) 724-0828. Request the “ASGA-DC” rate when you call Rocky Gap. Be advised that Rocky Gap has their own cancellation policy.
Optional Friday round at the Whitetail Golf Resort: The golf price for the optional Friday round is $41 including cart and contribution to the end of season pool.
