Bulle Rock with Philadelphia Chapter
2017
The sky was blue and the air was especially fresh for August on the day we met our friends from the city of brotherly love at Havre de Grace’s Bulle Rock Golf Course. Forty-three enthusiastic players answered the call to take on one of the east coast’s most challenging golf venues. The course showed its teeth early as wind gusts topped 22 MPH taking wayward balls in to water, gullies, bunkers, fescue and other obstacles placed there by architect PB Dye-abolical. While cart path only (CPO) restrictions limited our access to the fairways, the course was in outstanding condition considering all the recent rains. Kudos to head pro Rick Roundsaval and his staff for all their hard work and dedication. After the round, we make our way to the club house restaurant where we enjoyed a deliciously catered meal. The bespoken ASGA cookies were provided the Philly folks. The evening concluded with prizes for our closest to the pin contest winners. The ladies were Mary Doherty and Holly Warner. On the men’s side, it was Rick Goheen and Sam Tolbert. Consolation from prizes from the pro shop were also awarded. Thanks to Joanne Kendall for all the effort she made to make this outing a success.
