Poolesville Recap

Twenty-eight golfers enjoyed (ok, some of us labored) a late summer day in the pastoral setting of Poolesville Golf Course on Sunday, September 1, 2019.  The greens were in great shape following a recent aeration, while the fairways were still recovering, minimizing ball roll. Mother Nature provided cloud cover from the afternoon sun, as well as a few cooling raindrops.

Everyone participated in the closest-to-the-pin and longest putt contests, winners of which were:

Hole #3:  Surprisingly, no one!

Hole #8:  John Cash, 9’

Hole #13: Scott Hall, 15’10”

Hole #18: Longest Putt: Mark Hendrickson, 22’9”; Honorable Mention: April Langevin, who chipped into the cup from off the green!

After finishing, 25 of us retired to Bassett’s in downtown Poolesville to continue the day’s fun, sharing lots of laughs and libations.  Thanks to all who came and contributed to a super day on the links.
